The wedding party and others that have a role during the ceremony will meet at 5:00p for the rehearsal at the home of Drs. Amy & Kevin Tremper. The rehearsal dinner will be held at Palio in downtown Ann Arbor. Thanks to John and Nancy Smith for hosting.

The ceremony will begin at 5:00p, followed by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner will start at approximately 7:00p, followed by dancing & merriment.
Please bring your sunglasses, as the ceremony and dinner will be held outside. Also, there will be dancing in the barn following dinner, so we recommend bringing comfortable shoes! Ladies may want to wear flat shoes.
Post-wedding brunch before we leave for the honeymoon! This will be an open house style event at our home starting at 11:00am. All are invited.
We are getting married at the home of Drs. Amy & Kevin Tremper. Amy & Kevin both work with Audrey at University of Michigan hospital, where Amy is an attending OB/GYN and Kevin is chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology. Amy was the attending staff doctor in Audrey's second year obstetrics clinic. When she overheard Audrey in clinic one day telling Melinda about a beautiful barn in Traverse City that we were thinking of getting married in, she said “We have a barn, why don't you get married at our house?”. When we looked at their barn and property, we fell in love with it and knew we had to get married there.
Thank you to Amy & Kevin for their generosity in letting us use their home for our wedding. We couldn't be more excited!
The barn is estimated to be from the Civil War era. Although it has been restored, it still has much of the original wood. It originally belonged to Amy & Kevin's neighbor across the street, and they purchased it from his sons when he passed. Moving the barn across the street and restoring it was a huge undertaking which lasted about two years. They now use it frequently for parties and gatherings, and we will be the second couple to get married there.
Dress is semi-formal.
If you are coming from out of town, you should plan to fly into Detroit Metro Airport (DTW). Ann Arbor is about 30 minutes from the airport. Please let us know if you have any questions about traveling to Ann Arbor.
We have arranged for blocks of rooms at reduced rates for both Friday June 4th and Saturday June 5th. Please give them a call to book your room if you will be staying overnight, and ask for the Lance-Smith wedding block.
