Steven and Audrey's Wedding

Mandi is my cousin. We grew up together and in many ways are more like sisters than cousins. There is a 6 year age difference between us, so there was definitely a period of time when we weren’t best friends (right around the ages of 9 and 15, when I wanted to be just like Mandi, but Mandi thought I was just a pain in the butt!), but now we are very close. Mandi is also doubling as an assistant wedding planner and she has been so helpful!

Nicole & I have been friends since 3rd grade when we met on the swingset at Starr Elementary school – hard to believe we have been friends for over 20 years now! We attended different jr. high schools, but were reunited at Kimball High School. Despite going to different colleges, and being separated by over 500 miles for 4 years when I was in medical school, we have maintained a close friendship.

Melinda is one of the OB/GYN residents in my class, and we have become great friends over the past couple years in residency. Nothing bonds people together like spending 80 hours a week with each other at work, and then hanging out together after work! We are often mistaken for each other at work (we’re the two short, loud white girls), so we also now respond to each others’ name.

Olga & I met in college in an organic chemistry class (of all places), and discovered we share similar interests in women’s studies & medicine. We spent many a long night studying together in college, but had a lot of fun, too. We went to different places for medical school and Olga is now a resident in pediatrics in California, but they have remained close friends despite the distance. We’re so happy Olga is going to be able to make the long trip for the wedding!

Stella is Mandi’s adorable daughter. Mandi was the flower girl in my mom’s wedding, so it’s perfect that now Stella will be my flower girl!

Steve has been my best friend since elementary school. We have gone to school with each other our entire lives including through undergrad at Michigan State University where we were roommates. Steve and Audrey have also been friends since Jr High School.

We both met Jeff in high school and have been close friends ever since. Jeff held the party in Ann Arbor that is responsible for us getting together. Many good times where had in Kampsen’s basement enjoying drinks, video games, and movies.

David is my cousin. We have been hanging out together our entire lives but became closer in college when we both attended Michigan State University. We roomed together in Akers freshman year where many hijinks ensued.

Michael is one of the OB/GYN residents in Audrey’s class, and over the past couple years has become one of our greatest friends. The night we got engaged we started discussing who would marry us. We knew we wanted to have a very personal ceremony, and be married by someone who really knew us and loved us, and could speak about our relationship on a personal level. Michael was the natural choice, and we are so excited to have him be such an important part of our wedding day.
